Englourious Food Day

Oli found the Eye of Sauron in an apricot.

I've been getting into a really awesome food making mood of late. Probably one of the best possible moods you can be in, so we decided to make a day of it and cook recipes from my awesome Jamie Oliver cookbook I got for christmas. Yesterday we had an awesome food day with Paige and Georgia. We had high hopes and dreams and much hunger. Afterwards we left with warm-everything-belly. We consumed so much. It made me soo happy.

We made Jamie Olivers Mexican Breakfast for, uh, late brunch. Basically its this awesome tomato and chilli stew that you crack eggs into and poach them in the juices. Then you wrap it all up in a tortilla with cheese on top.

We used SOO many eggs.

Ahhh.......... man. That is some good looking tomato stew.

We ate it outside in the sun wearing gross looking hats and sunglasses. It was SOOO good. It was gooey and spicy and eggy and so warm and comforting and just... AHOFH"PHR#W. You have to try it.

Then we went on various excursions including shopping for ops and eating delicious spicy rice shit which name I cant remember. I do remember it being delicious. We also bought a bag of green chilies for the next recipe we had to try out. Which was also jamies HOT! CHOCOLATE AND CHURROS! (nb. the exclamation mark after HOT means chilli. And Churros are like mini round donut balls. Inescapably delicious (when cooked all the way through) and perfect for the dunking.

to be continued....

Celebration Sandwich

Because its tuesday and everything I thought I'd show you a recipe. It's my "hurray i finished my art folio sandwich and I want to celebrate" sandwich. Everyone should have their own celebration sandwhich. Its my one rule (he lies).

Instead of a detailed analysis on how to make it (EVERYONE knows how too make a sandwich) here's lots of photos...

you need: A WHOLE banana (thats the point); peanut butter (whatever kind, except unsalted... thats just weird... and make sure its not made in china. Not because I dont like china... i do, its just something to do with shipping and carbon footprints ya ya ya...); manuka honey; chocolate chips; bread (if your feeling adventurous or have a very large banana, use the crusts. Extra support).
